A record-store directory run by one collector.

Hi, I'm Mike. I've been collecting records for years, digging through crates and getting to know the shops that make this hobby what it is. VinylPackman started as my own notes on where to find them.

Over time it turned into a directory of record stores across the United States, useful for two kinds of people: collectors looking for their next shop, and folks who've inherited or built a collection and aren't sure where to sell it.

That second group is who I spend most of my time helping. When you send a collection through the site, I look at what you have and where you are, then try to point you toward nearby shops that are most likely to want that kind of music. A metal shop usually won't want your jazz, and a rock store may not be the right place for old 78s.

Rather than just list stores, I try to get to know them. I've talked with shop owners about how they buy, what they are after, and what they wish sellers knew. Those conversations live on the store pages, in their own words.
