Academy Records operates two locations in New York, with the original store at 415 E 12th St in the East Village. The shop buys and sells used vinyl records, cassettes, books, and music-related memorabilia. Their inventory spans rock, jazz, soul and funk, punk, metal, reggae, hip-hop, and experimental music. Academy also operates an online store and mail-order service, and offers bulk discounts on used vinyl for customers looking to build collections or stock new stores.

Can I bring records without covers to sell?

Unfortunately, we cannot take records without covers. Records must be complete with their original covers to be considered for purchase.

When can I bring in my records for evaluation?

You're welcome to bring in records any day of the week between 12 PM and 6 PM. We need to see the items in person before we can determine their value.
