Record store: Record Exchange
FAQ
Are you currently purchasing media items?
Although we are currently not purchasing media items, we generally do purchase from individuals when we are in buying mode.
How can I make an appointment to sell my records?
When we are purchasing, we do so by appointment only. Appointments are made after a careful screening either through email (with photos) and/or by phone.
What genres of records are you interested in purchasing?
We're mostly interested in jazz, rock, alternative-indie, metal, punk, blues, soul, and more. However, there are far more records that we would not accept than those we would.
Are there specific types of records you are interested in?
We don't really purchase 78s, and 45s would have to be something out-of-the-ordinary, like original PICTURE SLEEVE 45s from 60s bands such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Yardbirds, or UK import singles from the mid-70s to early 90s with picture sleeves.
What are your condition requirements for purchasing records?
In every case, the condition (cover-record) is critical—we don't purchase records that are less than VG+ in condition. Usually, collections that are a 'mixed bag' with a little bit of this and a little bit of that aren't so promising.
What is the best way to initiate contact if I want to sell my records?
It might be easier overall if you can briefly describe what you have, and then I would be able to tell you quickly if we would have some interest.
