RocknShop in Cartersville is a vinyl shop with a strong classic-rock pull, serving local regulars and visitors passing through town for museums, LakePoint Sports, and nearby events. Owner Eddie Bruce says clean copies of the big staples still move fast, but the store keeps a little bit of everything in the bins.
Interview with RocknShop - Vinyl records
Cartersville is close enough to Atlanta to feel the pull but far enough to be its own scene. Who walks through your door?
We have a lot of local customers who are very loyal and greatly appreciated. Older adults to young teens that love vinyl. Wow also get a lot of people traveling as we have several museums in town as well as Lakepoint Sports, which host baseball, basketball and more tournaments.
What do your regulars ask for most — classic rock, country, soul, metal, all of it?
Most classic rock. We do get request for country and grunge, punk and pop too.

Is there a record that sells in Cartersville every single time you get a clean copy?
Several titles sell monthly including Fleetwood Mac Rumours, Eagles Hotel California and Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon never last long.

Do you see collections with real Georgia history in them — southern rock, gospel, soul from the region?
Absolutely, the Allman Brothers are big favorite, along with other Southern rockers like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Marshall Tucker and more
If someone local wants to sell records, what's the best first step — and what makes a stack an easy yes?
We get weekly calls and just ask them to bring them by the store. We’ve also gone to the owners place if it’s a large collection. Classic rock and heavy metal are always a YES, if in good condition.
What condition problems do Georgia heat and humidity leave behind in old collections?
Definitely see damage in some collections. Heat and water damage more than anything. But usually its not so bad that we turn them away.
What's a memorable find or customer story from the shop?
We once had a KISS Alive sealed that came in from a customer who received it as a gift one Christmas as a kid. Also one collection had TWO sealed copies of No Quarters from Page and Plant. I’m still waiting on a copy of a Beatles Butcher Cover to come in… no luck yet.
What should a first-time visitor know before stopping in?
We love the classic rock. Beatles, Pink Floyd, Boston, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, etc…. We have a little bit of everything, but you will always find the classic artist/titles as long as we can keep them in stock.
