not much. If we run across Elvis records that are in excellent shape we buy them though.

You've got around 5,000 records with a third of them new and sealed — how do you strike that balance between fresh stock and the deep used crates?

We try to stock almost any new lp's that have recurring demand, of which we seldom get in the store as used.

Tupelo's a small city with a huge musical shadow — who comes through, and what's the north Mississippi scene like?

Normal everyday record collectors and just plain newly curious clientele. The Elvis tour busses only get heavy on birth, and death dates plus Elvis Festival dates.

Sell some 45's but not much

What do people most often get wrong about what their records are worth?

The only people who get it wrong usually are people who suddenly come upon a record they want to sell and otherwise have no interest in vinyl. People who sell have had them stored for years and want to get rid of, or came about in an inheritance situation. Of course you have the occasional young guy who is tight financially and desperately needs the money or wouldn't even entertain selling.
