Record store: Spin Cycle
FAQ
What kinds of records do you buy?
We definitely do buy records from individuals! We do not deal in 78s and generally do not make a habit of accepting anything below a VG grading. Some wear is generally okay but anything with heavy warps or scratches which make the media difficult to listen to wouldn't be accepted.
Do I need to make an appointment to sell my records?
The answer to your question depends on the size of the collection. For collections of 40-100 records, you can drop by without an appointment. For larger collections, we prefer to coordinate between management and the seller to consider a housecall.
What happens during the record evaluation process?
We inspect and quality grade each individual record. A larger collection will obviously take more time. This process is influenced by how many other collections we are currently working through and the size of the collection you bring.
What is the best time to bring my records for evaluation?
We have buyers here nearly every day, so the "best time" is dependent on staffing and our current workload. It's always a good idea to call ahead to get an understanding of the current situation.
What conditions of records do you not accept?
We do not accept records with heavy warps or scratches which make them difficult to listen to. Our minimum acceptable quality is VG grading, as anything below this is not typically suitable for resale.
