Record store: Record Hound / Books & More
FAQ
What genres of music are you primarily interested in buying?
I look for a lot of different genres, including classic rock, bebop jazz, soul, heavy metal, punk, and picture discs.
What types of music do you generally not purchase?
I don't buy much pop music, some musicals, orchestra, and I'm limited on classical.
How do you prefer to evaluate potential purchases?
I generally like to call and talk to people to get a gist of what they have, which helps me evaluate the situation.
How do you determine the value of a record collection?
Most collections have more common than rare LPs. When buying any collection, I base it on the rarities within. The art of winning a collection is your knowledge base & condition wherein.
What is your approach to negotiation when buying collections?
I like to negotiate with people on collections because none are exactly the same. Fair & a reasonable profit for both involved is important to the end result. Time is the enemy, so the longer you sit on the collection, the more it drains your profits.
