Ear Candy Music

Ear Candy Music has been slinging wax in downtown Missoula since 1998, and the shop leans on a buying model most stores don't bother with: they buy direct from labels and artists rather than relying only on walk-in trades. That's part of why the new-vinyl wall runs deep, with a stock north of 13,000 titles alongside a rotating used section and CDs.

The shop also ships, and does it well - reviewers repeatedly point to careful, fast domestic and international packing, plus a knack for turning up hard-to-find drum and bass and other specialty pressings that don't show up in most small-town shops. Staff, including owner John, are known for pointing customers toward records rather than just ringing them up.
