Hermitage sits in that Shenango Valley corner where Pennsylvania and Ohio blur together. Who comes through the door?

In our 41 years we have had many visitors from over seas. All of Europe, UK, Korea, Australia. Isreal, Canadians & South America. We have shipped worldwide for 41 years. Our first shipment was not in the states but to Australia.

How do the records and the collectibles side play together - do people come for one and leave with the other?

We have music from all genres & never know who will want 78's, 45's Lp's 8-Tracks Reel-to-reel or some type of recording artist collectible item. Our collector's mall is vast with most anything you can think of. Sports memorabilia & trading cards, Artist worn stage clothing & tour jackets, a vast collection of Kiss items, artist guitars, big selection of comic books, dolls, toys, wild west,TV cowboy collectibles circus, flash & ruby glassware & a huge selection of vintage magazines & books & much more.

What do your regulars ask for most - and what sells here that might not in Pittsburgh or Cleveland?

We have something for every collector of every type.

Do you see collections with real Rust Belt history in them - records from the steel-town decades?

We have collected items from all over the country. We opened in June 1985 and immediately purchased a very large quantity of new old stock items from a Philadelphia warehouse. We have bought out stores and collections for many years.

PS: Basements are frequently damp & that destroy records

What's a find or customer story that captures the personality of the shop?

A TV station from Pittsburgh wanted to do a story on out vast collection. I should have got back with them, but my husband was very ill at the time & has since passed.
