Owner Will took over the store after retiring from twenty-five years at Whole Foods Market, bringing retail expertise to this Boulder landmark. The shop hosts events and features new listening stations.

Will spends most Saturdays and Tuesdays in the store and enjoys talking music with customers. He actively buys vinyl collections from local residents, including from estates and downsizing homes. The shop is expanding its online presence and planning to offer rare collectibles for sale online. How do you determine the value of the records?

We use Discogs.com as a guide for pricing. We buy and price off of the median price. We pay 1/3 of what we hope to sell a record for. For example, we would give you $10 for a record we hope to sell for $30. If we priced your collection at a value of $1,000 you would get $333.

Cash or store credit - which do you usually do?

We give customers the choice. Store credit gets you 20% more than cash.

Are there any types of records you do not accept? Like big bands or disco.

We do not buy big band, classical, Readers Digest box sets, moldy albums, or records in poor condition.

What is the process if I decide to sell my records to you?

Just bring your records by any time and we will evaluate them for you and make an offer. The process usually takes a couple of days.

Can I sell records that were gifted to me?

Yes, you can sell records regardless of how you obtained them, as long as they meet our acceptance criteria and are in good condition.
