• Pre-1970s: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Velvet Underground, The Monkees, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison/Them.
• 1970s: Tom Petty, Lou Reed, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY), Badfinger, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, King Crimson, Yes, Neil Young, Genesis, Heart, Elton John (up to Yellow Brick Road), Billy Joel.
• 1980s: I especially like punk and new wave records.

Are there any genres or types of music you generally avoid?

• Old Country: Porter Wagoner, Roy Acuff, etc.
• Folk: Tom Rush, Peter, Paul & Mary, Joan Baez, Melanie, Buffy Sainte-Marie.
• Other Genres: Soundtracks, Classical, Musicals, Big Band, Dixieland.
• Non-Rock: Bob James, Spyro Gyra, most jazz fusion.

How do you grade and inspect the records?

I grade records and their jackets by sight, checking for marks and warps. Records must meet a minimum of VG (Very Good) according to Goldmine standards. Some mono pressings may be exceptions.

What is your policy on trading and payment?

I do not trade for store credit; I offer cash or a check, depending on the size of the collection. I'm a tough grader because I want to maintain high-quality product on the shelf.

• I'm in the shop on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from noon until 6:00 PM.
