FAQ

Do you purchase LPs and 45s?

Yes, we do purchase LPs and 45s. We are specifically looking for rock, country, and jazz records from 1960 onwards. For 45s, we generally only buy those with picture sleeves.

What condition should the records be in for consideration?

We prefer items in good shape, with no scratches on discs and no water damage to sleeves.

Can you explain your grading system for records?

Our grading system is based on the Poor to Mint scale, and we primarily use Discogs as our database to compare and contrast sales of records in various conditions over time. We evaluate based on multiple factors, including visual and tactile aspects like scratches or mold, and any imperfection that lowers the value of the package. Typically, we make offers at about a third of what the record sells for, aiming to triple our investment.

What types of music are you most excited to purchase?

We are most excited about jazz labels from the mid-20th century to the late '70s, such as Blue Note, Prestige, Strata East, etc. However, we are interested in any genre and era, especially those that guarantee sales or include desirable titles, artists, and rarities. We tend to avoid pop vocal and easy listening genres.

Is it necessary to schedule an appointment to sell a large collection?

Yes, scheduling an appointment is preferable. We can also make arrangements to visit you if that's more convenient. Alternatively, dropping by on a weekday between 1-7 PM is acceptable.

Who can I contact for more information or to arrange an appointment?

For further information or to schedule a time to discuss your collection, you can call Charvis Campbell, the owner, at 202-469-9868. Emily, the manager, can also assist you.
