Record store: Welfare Records
FAQ
What genres of records do you buy?
We buy all kinds of genres except for easy listening, pop vocals, classical, and opera. We look for diversity in our inventory and appreciate records that can cater to varied musical tastes.
In what condition do the records need to be for you to buy them?
We accept records in any condition. However, the price we offer will vary depending on the condition of the record. Records in better condition will naturally fetch a higher price.
How do you evaluate the records brought in for sale?
Our evaluation process involves checking what we already have in stock, the number of copies we possess, and how quickly certain titles sell. Our familiarity with market demand and stock levels helps us determine the value of your records.
How does the quantity of a particular title affect the price offered?
If you bring in titles that are scarce in our inventory and are in demand, you will be paid very well. Conversely, if you bring in titles that sell well but of which we already have many copies, the payment will be less—though still reasonable. For titles that are hard to sell, the compensation will be minimal.
Do you offer store credit? If so, how does it compare to cash payment?
Yes, we offer store credit as an alternative to cash payments. Store credit typically pays about 25% more than what we would offer in cash. This option can be particularly appealing if you're looking to add more records to your collection from our store.
