Founded by English teachers Paul Epstein and Jill Parrish after purchasing a seized record store, the business has operated for over three decades across five locations. Current owner Patrick Brown, who started at the store in 1992, has maintained the original philosophy of service, selection, and ambiance that built its reputation.

The store hosts live performances and signings from both established and emerging artists, making it a destination for music fans nationwide. Twist & Shout offers rare, out-of-print, and import vinyl alongside standard releases.
